The National Museum of Natural History and the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital invite you to a screening of Inventing Tomorrow, produced by Laura Nix, Diane Becker, and Melanie Miller. A Q&A with Melanie Miller (Producer, Inventing Tomorrow), Erin Szulman (Director of Impact, Inventing Tomorrow), and Frank Niepold (Climate Education Coordinator, NOAA's Climate Program Office) moderated by Jen Collins (Ocean Education Specialist, NMNH) will follow. 

Inventing Tomorrow follows six young scientists from Indonesia, Hawaii, India and Mexico as they tackle some of the most complex environmental issues facing humanity today – right in their own backyards. Take a journey with these inspiring teens as they prepare to present their cutting-edge scientific research at the largest convening of high school scientists in the world, the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), a program of the Society for Science and the Public. Framed against the backdrop of the severe environmental threats our planet faces, the documentary leaves audiences of all ages with a sense of hopefulness, inspired by the solutions-based optimism of these young innovators.

This program is offered with the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital as part of Natural History on the Big Screen, a series that introduces audiences to the latest environmental films addressing our relationship with the planet.
