Do you want to be in the Museum where discovery happens?
Join the Visitor Experience Ambassadors and help welcome visitors to the largest natural history Museum in the world. Ambassadors use their investigative skills and enthusiasm to educate visitors on the Museum, its exhibitions, tours, special events, and the Washington DC area.
Be front and center for orienting our thousands of visitors to the new David H. Koch Hall of Fossils-Deep Time exhibition opening June 2019!
What does volunteer require?
-Must be 18 or older
-Attend two full-day training sessions on Sunday, 2/23 (includes New Volunteer Orientation) and Saturday, 2/29 10am-5:30pm
-Attend two evening sessions on Wednesday, 3/4 and Wednesday, 3/35 from 6-8pm
-Attend a behind-the-scenes Museum Tour on Saturday, March 7 (between 10am-2pm-exact time TBD)
-Commit to 1 year volunteering 8 hours per month
-Complete a Smithsonian Institution Background Check
Shifts are:
-9:45am-1:45pm OR 1:15-5:15pm 7 days per week
-Flexible or recurring schedules available
-Pre-shift meetings at 9:45am or 1:15pm to get you filled in on all the latest Museum news
