Dedicate an Auditorium Seat

Thank you for the generous contributions to the Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute’s auditorium seat nameplate sale. Nameplates are no longer available for purchase. Those currently appearing on selected seats will remain until 2023. At that time, donors to this campaign will be given first right of refusal to renew their nameplate inscription and seat location.

The Smithsonian’s National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute’s auditorium has a new look, and you’re invited to take a seat!

For a limited time, you have the opportunity to honor a special person or acknowledge a loved one with a personalized nameplate on the seat of your choice — all while showing support for the Zoo’s mission to save species. The auditorium, located at the Zoo, is an important space for public education and wildlife conservation programming.

Nameplates will remain until 2023. Please note that your seat naming designation is not a seat reservation for programming in the auditorium.

The opportunity to hold a FONZ Birthday Party is a benefit provided to all FONZ members. Parties are for children turning ages 2 to 8, and for a maximum of 16 to 20 children, depending on the party room.

Your hosts will help ensure that the party runs smoothly but cannot be responsible for child discipline. Please be sure that at least two adults attend the party to properly chaperone the children.

Become a FONZ Member

Parties are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis and require an initial payment of $425, which covers up to ten children, including the birthday child. Dates cannot be held without this initial payment. Additional children may be added later (up to 16 or 20, depending on the room reserved) at $20 per child. You will receive an email from the FONZ Programs Department staff the week before your party to confirm the number of children attending and tour selection.
