Long Description of Campaign
12
2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! Organizations around the world are celebrating through Earth Optimism, a campaign to turn the conservation conversation from doom and gloom to optimism and opportunity. We're joining the celebrations to share our own Earth Optimism through conservation success stories, such as real examples of how BHL’s open access collections are empowering conservation work today and highlights of milestones in conservation history and the people who made them possible. Follow along and share your own Earth Optimism all month long!

BHL Campaign Theme and Content Focus
22
Driving vision for BHL participation in the campaign is: We're Earth Optimists because open access to biodiversity literature helps provide researchers with the information they need to study and conserve life on Earth. Our content focus for the campaign is sharing conservation success stories from and made possible by the BHL collection.

Wikipedia Focus on Endangered Species: What's the Connection to Earth Optimism?
26
Improving easy online access to information about endangered species can help raise public awareness about the plight of these species, which can in turn help bolster or ignite onservation activities for them, while also providing easier access points to data about these species which can be used to help inform conservation strategies and policies. For partners hosting their own workshops with independent themes: Ask that events tie themselves in some way to supporting conservation success.
